Not all fertility clinics are the same and there is certainly a wide range of quality in the services provided. Published success rates are only one of many factors to consider. Other points to consider when choosing a fertility clinic are, range of services provided, in house treatment for both partners, practice environment, teamwork and financial options. These are just a few points to think about when you’re making your decision.

Our specialized treatment plans combine compassionate patient care with state-of-the-art technology, much of which our physicians pioneered.

Whether you are seeking medical attention to begin treatment, seeking a second opinion, or to evaluate your fertility potential, our new patient coordinator is here to help you get started. You will need to complete the Registration forms in full prior to scheduling the initial consultation. Once the forms have been completed, our office will contact you within 48 hours to schedule the date and time of your consultation. Do I have to have a referral to schedule a consultation?2016-02-16T15:28:29-05:00

As a practice we do not require a referral for new patients. We do recommend that you check with your insurance company to make sure they do not require one to insure coverage. If you need assistance in insurance verification, please contact our business office.

Yes, you can schedule your appointment at any time you are ready. You will need to complete the Registrations forms in full prior to scheduling the initial consultation. Once the forms have been completed, our office will contact you within 48 hours to schedule the date and time of your consultation. For additional information please contact our coordinator at 404-459-3549.


Does my insurance policy include or exclude infertility coverage?2021-02-09T14:34:57-05:00

Call your insurance company and/or Human Resources Coordinator to check on your infertility coverage.  Ask:

Does my policy include or exclude infertility coverage?

If it is excluded from your policy, you are Self Pay.  Everything done in our office will be self pay and payment in full will be due at time of service.  An initial consultation will be approximately $270.00.

If it is included in your policy, ask the following questions:

  • Is my policy diagnostic only?
  • Do I have coverage for underlying conditions? This is for surgery benefits.
  • Using the CPT codes 58322 & 58323 with the diagnosis code of V26.1, would these be covered?  This is for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI).
  • Advanced Reproductive Technology – using the CPT codes 58970, 58974, 58976, 89258 and the diagnosis code of Z31.83, would these procedures be covered?  This is for In Vitro Fertilization. (IVF)
  • Is there a maternity exclusion on my policy?
  • Is there a pre-existing clause on your policy in reference to infertility treatment or surgery procedures?
  • Do you have any drug coverage for infertility treatment?
    • If yes, where? (mail order or local pharmacy)
    • What drugs are included as Tier 1? (i.e. Follistim, Gonal F, Lupron)
  • Do I need a referral and/or a prior authorization for any office visits or procedures? (If yes, please secure this prior to your visit – failure to follow the guidelines of your policy may result in denial of covered services.)
  • Have I met my deductible?  What is my co-pay or co-insurance that will be due?

Does my spouse/partner need to attend the initial consultation?2016-02-16T15:39:25-05:00

We believe that the support you receive from your spouse/ partner is critical to your care and wellbeing during your journey to parenthood. The first appointment is designed to evaluate both partner’s medical history and physical health. This is essential in determining the treatment plan that is best for you. We recommend that your spouse/partner attend as many or all appointments as possible.

How soon can I start my plan of treatment?2017-06-16T09:37:33-04:00

At your initial consultation your physician and nurses will walk you through any additional testing that is needed to complete your fertility workup. Once the ordered testing is complete and your treatment plan has been established starting your treatment plan is on your timeline. Most patients start their treatment within 3 months of their initial consultation.

What can I expect at my first visit and what is the cost of this visit?2017-06-16T09:37:33-04:00

Your initial consultation usually takes about 1 hour to insure that the physician can review your complete history.  If possible we recommend that you and your spouse/ partner attend this visit due to the amount of content that is covered. Our business office will check your insurance coverage prior to this visit and advise you on your cost.

Cost for fertility treatment varies, depending on a variety of factors (what treatment is recommended for you, how much medication you will need, whether insurance covers a portion of treatment, etc.) Our business office representatives work closely with you to utilize your maximum insurance benefits and to discuss all financial options. If you have general billing questions please call 404-459-3464.

The physicians and staff of RBA understand infertility treatment can be a stressful experience and we are dedicated to providing the clinical and emotional support you need. Our “Healthy Spirit, Healthy Body” program is an educational series designed to keep you informed and to enhance your infertility treatment journey. We have put together a dynamic team committed to your physical and emotional wellbeing. The “Healthy Spirit, Healthy Body” series is free of charge and offered exclusively to current RBA patients. Many patients find that participating in a support group, decreases their stress and the sense of the isolation that they feel while experiencing infertility. RBA , Dr. Lauren Berman and Dr. Warren Kaplan have joined together to offer monthly in-house support group meetings (Exclusively for current RBA patients). The monthly support group is a safe place for women and men who are experiencing struggles on their journey to parenthood to talk freely about their feelings and their concerns. The meetings are held at the Atlanta-Main Office location on the First Tuesday of each month. For more information about our support groups visit our events page.

If you live outside of a big city options on where to seek fertility treatment can be challenging. Medical tourism is on the rise with the wide range in clinical success rates and treatment options offered by fertility practices.
